INNERnet Connections
This projects focus was learning about stress, anxiety and learning spaces. We surveyed kids in our school to see what stresses them out the most and what they need in order to relieve that stress. The most common things people needed that the school didn't have were private spaces, quiet spaces and most of all places they could just sit back and relax in. Our task for this project was to create a space that would help solve one of those issues. We were put into groups based off of who was interested in a certain issue. Once we were put into groups we started planning for Experience Week. During Experience Week we held different tests of how we felt was the best way for people to relax, we had people from school test them out and give us feedback. Our next task was to think about making an actual installment in the school to help the issue. We split off into groups of two and created a concept board and scale model. The scale model was made to show what our proposed structure would actually look like. To make our scale models we first learned about proportions, volume and area since we had to make our scale model proportional to the real life building. On our concept boards we put images of furniture, floor samples, paint samples and anything else that we might want.

Our proposed structure is called Palace of Privacy. Palace of Privacy is a place that allows students to relax from the daily stress school and life bring. Palace of Privacy is a two story building standing around 18 feet tall. The first story of the building is made out of a cylinder and contains rooms with different themes such as a beaches, forests and sunsets which will allow the students to feel as though they’re really in that location. The second story is made from a pentagon with glass walls, white carpet and multiple seating areas for students to sit back and watch the world around them. When you walk through the front doors you will be greeted by dark grey wood floors, multiple chairs and couches and most importantly our posters showcasing what each room looks like and what interactions are in each space. To get to the second story you will have to walk up a spiral staircase which then opens up to the bright and welcoming lounge room. This building will be located on the east side of the school and will only be open during school hours. The materials needed to create this structure are glass for the windows and for the walls of the upper floor, steel beams for support, wood for the flooring, carpet for the second level and concrete for the walls to insure our building stays intact.

Concept Statement
Privacy is something we all look for. Whether it be privacy from your parents, teachers, classmates or just anyone. Palace Of Privacy was designed specifically for that purpose. We want people to feel like they can be somewhere where they can be alone or be able to talk with a friend privately and have no one interrupt. Our space is a two story building, the first floor will include dark grey wood floors, lilac walls with cream colored trim. The first floor will also contain multiple rooms that will have a different theme inside, the themes include a forest, beach and a sunset and each door will be color coordinated to match the scene inside of it. The rooms will have huge bean bags and couches for people to sit down and relax in.

Before we started our concept boards we turned to Pinterest to get ideas of what we would like to have in our space. We pinned seating areas, color schemes, light fixtures and themes for our rooms.
